Sorry to have been missing in action for awhile but we have been busy touring around and my aunt and uncle were here with us for a week so there was not much Internet time.
We have been staying in a small village in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains called Taillebourg in a beautiful old house owned by my cousin. It has been a nice change of pace to have a home base to tour around from, and the region is gorgeous; each valley different from the next. There are tiny villages growing out of the cliff faces, cows grazing on the mountain grasses, their cowbells echoing across the valley, creeks and rivers swollen from the snow melt and spring rains, and outdoor markets bustling with busy shoppers out buying their daily provisions. On our first day trip through the region, my always eloquent husband summed it up nicely by saying it was "frickin' gorgeous." What a way with words he has....

Making Sangria
We have done a lot of day trips, including a hike to Lac d'Oô, a beautiful mountain lake surrounded by waterfalls. We also ventured out for a few days at a time with my aunt and uncle to Carcassonne and Barcelona and to the Bastide towns of Cahors and Rocamadour.

Tomorrow we will head back on the road. We are heading into Spain and will meet up with a few friends along the way in Madrid and Barcelona.
Nice work with that Sangria! Wow...everything looks so amazing. I miss you so much but am so glad to read about all of your adventures. Your pictures are "frickin' gorgeous!"
